  • Sport (Profile: Märkisches Gymnasium enables pupils to combine school and competitive sport through various school partnerships. Since the establishment of the part-time boarding school for athletics by the city of Bochum in the 1970s, Märkisches Gymnasium has been working together with the Wattenscheid Olympic Training Center. We are also an NRW sports school and an elite sports school.)
  • MINT (Profile: MINT stands for "Mathematics, Informatics, Natural Sciences and Technology". In recent years, this area has been increasingly expanded at our school, and participation in competitions and the range of electives offered in compulsory elective area 2 has steadily increased. Since the 2020/2021 school year, there has therefore also been a STEM profile at our school)
  • Music (Profile: Thanks to dedicated teachers, the pupils at the Märkische Schule are very interested and active in music. This has enabled the music department to provide high-quality work in classes, courses and clubs for many years.)
