Confidential help with mental health problems

The Child and Adolescent Psychiatric Service of the Bochum Health Department advises children and adolescents up to the age of 18 - as well as parents, teachers, school social workers and anyone who would like to help. Counseling is free of charge and confidential.

What does the team help with?

  • Suicidal thoughts, self-harm

  • Anxiety, depression, panic attacks

  • Bullying, social withdrawal, school avoidance

  • Eating disorders, identity issues, media consumption

  • Aggressive behavior, listlessness

  • Crisis situations with danger to self or others

  • Deep sadness, concentration problems, addictions

What else does the service offer?

  • Relief talks in acute crises

  • Mediation and coordination with youth welfare office, schools, clinics and therapists

  • Support in accessing further assistance
