Offers for parents, children and families

The family education center of the city of Bochum supports families in all phases of life. It offers practical courses, open meeting places and advice - for parents, children, grandparents and other caregivers. The aim is to make everyday family life easier, strengthen relationships and impart knowledge.

What is on offer?

• Parent-child courses
  From baby courses and playgroups to music and exercise classes - the focus here is on shared experiences.

• Parent education
  In Vorträgen und Workshops erhalten Eltern Impulse zu Erziehung, Kommunikation, Mediennutzung und weiteren Alltagsthemen. Viele dieser Angebote sind Teil der Bochumer Elternschule.

• Open meeting places
  Parents' cafés and family get-togethers invite you to exchange ideas and network - without registration, free of charge and close to where you live.

• Creative and health-promoting courses
  Whether sewing, cooking, yoga or dance - the offers promote well-being and creativity.

Where do the offers take place?

The courses take place in the family education center (Zechenstraße 10), in other course rooms (Liboriusstraße 39, Brantropstraße 14) and in cooperation with other institutions in Bochum.

Costs and discounts

Course fees vary - many courses are free of charge. Payment is possible in cash, by card or by SEPA direct debit. Discounts are available, for example, with the Bochum Pass, proof of Bafög or other benefit certificates.
