The Bochum Adult Education Center (vhs) is the city’s municipal continuing education center. It is dedicated to lifelong learning—open to all, affordable, and conveniently located. Its programs are designed for anyone who wishes to further their personal, professional, or social development.

The vhs program is published twice a year and includes over 800 courses and events. It covers a wide range of topics:

There are no strict admission requirements. Many courses are available at a discounted rate—for example, for students or holders of the Bochum Pass. Educational leave is also an option.
