Five Berufskollegs. A common mission. Strong prospects for Bochum.

The five municipal Berufskollegs in Bochum have been working together for many years to provide young people with high-quality vocational education. This cooperation was deepened as part of the "Regional Education Centers of Berufskollegs (RBZB)" school trial and contributed significantly to the development of joint structures and processes. With the consolidation, the successful cooperation with the city of Bochum has now been raised to a new level: The previous school trial has become a permanent, future-oriented network that sustainably strengthens and further develops vocational education in the city.

Together towards the future

Around a third of all pupils in Bochum attend a municipal Berufskolleg - a clear indication of the great importance of this type of school for the Bochum education region. With the permanent establishment of the RBZB, this strong foundation will be further expanded and secured in the long term.

At the heart of the cooperation is the formation of a community of responsibility in which the Berufskollegs work together with the city of Bochum, the employment agency, the chambers, economic development and other regional partners on the further development of vocational training and securing skilled workers. The aim is to provide young people in the region with tailored vocational orientation and high-quality educational opportunities - tailored to the needs of the regional labor market.

1. Coordinated and modern Educational paths

   In the RBZB network, services are developed jointly and regularly updated - always geared towards the requirements of a changing working world.

2. Sustainable further development in regular operation

   The RBZB ensures that successful projects and structures are not only maintained, but also continuously expanded and adapted to new challenges - for example in the context of skills shortages or social changes.

3. Synergies in the network

   Joint advisory concepts, coordinated training courses and close cooperation with partner institutes ensure that pupils receive even more targeted support. Around 10,000 young people in around 500 classes are already benefiting from this successful collaboration.

Together they offer a wide range of Educational offers in the fields of business, administration, IT, technology, design, health, nutrition, education and social work - from the lower secondary school leaving certificate and full-time school courses to the advanced technical college entrance qualification and the Abitur.
