"Family class" and "Family in school (FiSch)"
What is "Family Class" or "Family in School (FiSch)"?
The two programs are based on the conviction that families have the ability to develop and successfully implement creative solutions to obstacles in everyday school and family life. It is a cooperative project between the school, the regional education office, the youth welfare office and, if necessary, an outpatient youth support center.
How does "Family Class" or "Family in School (FiSch)" work?
The family class or FiSch class takes place once a week during school hours for around five school hours in a separate classroom at the school. A permanent team consisting of a teacher and a social worker leads the class. A family reference person takes part in the family or FiSch class together with the child. Work is carried out across year groups. The morning is clearly structured, with alternating learning and work phases. The child works on individual goals to improve everyday school life. During the learning phases, the subject matter of the main subjects of the current school day is worked on.
Who can take part?
Children who need support and who find it difficult to enjoy their everyday school life can take part. The active involvement of families during the project period initiates and supports change processes. The prerequisite is the willingness of a caregiver to come to school once a week.
Contact with the family or FiSch class team or the school's class teacher is possible for this purpose.
