Benefits for education and participation
Opening up opportunities - regardless of income
Children and young people should be able to participate: at school, in clubs, on excursions or at lunch at daycare. The education and participation package supports low-income families in this - in an uncomplicated and targeted manner.
Who can receive the benefits?
Children and young people up to the age of 25 are entitled if they or their parents receive one of the following benefits:
Housing benefit
Child supplement
Social assistance (SGB XII)
Benefits under the Asylum Seekers Benefits Act
The Jobcenter Bochum is responsible for citizens' allowance recipients.
What is supported?
The package includes:
Excursions and school trips: Costs for daycare and school trips are covered in full.
School suppliesGrants for satchels, calculators etc. - at the beginning of each school year.
School transportation: The personal contribution for the DeutschlandTicket Schule is covered.
Learning supportTutoring is paid if it is necessary.
Lunch catering: Costs for shared lunch at school or daycare center are covered.
Social and cultural participation15 euros per month for club fees, music lessons or vacation camps.
