Creating Opportunities—Regardless of Income
Children and teens should be able to participate: at school, in clubs, on field trips, or during lunch at daycare. The Education and Participation Package supports low-income families in this—in a straightforward and targeted way.
Who is eligible for these benefits?
Children and adolescents up to age 25 are eligible if they or their parents receive one of the following benefits:
Housing Allowance
Child Supplement
Social Assistance (SGB XII)
Benefits Under the Asylum Seekers Benefits Act
The Bochum Job Center is responsible for recipients of the citizen's income.
What is eligible for funding?
The package includes:
Field Trips and School Trips: The costs of daycare and school field trips are fully covered.
School Supplies: Subsidies for backpacks, calculators, and other school supplies—at the start of each school year.
School Transportation: The copayment for the DeutschlandTicket Schule is covered.
Academic Support: Tutoring is paid for when it is necessary.
Lunch: The cost of group lunches at school or daycare is covered.
Social and Cultural Participation: 15 euros per month for club dues, music lessons, or summer camps.
